About the competition
This competition will invite the best from amongst the Tourism Industry to compete for the Best Bartender & Best Cocktail of the Year Award and encourage a list of favourite signature cocktails that will become familiar as the tastes and favourite cocktail concoctions for tourists on their Samoan holiday. The competition will assist in the promotion of the availability of quality wining and dining which is an important part of a tourist's holiday experience.
Competition Format
On the morning of the competition, the participants will set up their bar and prepare juices / garnishes they will need for their cocktail. This will allow the judges to verify that all ingredients (except spirits/liquers) are local. Storage will be provided for the ingredients until the competition begins. Participants are encouraged to do their best in decorating their bar as this will also be criteria for the judging.
This competition will have the bartenders mix their creative signature cocktail in which they will each be judged on. Each bartender will be given 15mins (max) to perform the mix and have it ready for judging.
To add flavour to the competition, a DJ will also be given a spot on the stage amongst the bartenders to spin a few records to set the mood for the competitors and the spectators.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Competitor has to be working in a tourism business and his/her application to the Competition has to be supported by the Tourism Business.
- A Tourism Business includes a tourist accommodation of any category or a restaurant or bar.
- The Competitor must be 21 years old must have resided in Samoa for more than 12 months.
Competition Judging Criteria
- Originality e.g. New concoction/mix, the name of the cocktail
- Presentation e.g. colourful, garnish etc.
- Usage of local ingredients
- Functionality & Economics e.g. How easy is it to make and how easy is it to find the ingredients, and how expensive or reasonably priced is it?
- Taste
- Style & flair in performing the mix
- Bar Setup/Decorations
- Cocktail glass is appropriate for type of cocktail
- Display name of cocktail and ingredients used in the mix

About the competition
This competition will invite the best from amongst the Tourism Industry to compete for the Best Samoa Floral/Fruit Bowl (arrangement) team. The competition aims to encourage hotel and beach fale housekeeping teams' creativeness in servicing the specific areas of their Accommodation Property, with purpose to appeal to the guests' and visitors appreciation of experiencing a beautiful Samoan Holiday.
Competition Format
There will be three (3) persons to a team, to compete in the various phases of the competition as a group or individually. There will be three (3) parts of the competition with the team creating a floral/foliage arrangement for the reception counter or room table-top, an arrangement of a fruit-bowl for a VIP Guest, and a large arrangement for the foyer or reception area. The competitors will bring their own tools and flowers, foliage, fruits, oasis, sponges and all necessary to create the competition pieces. STA will provide the tables.

- The competitors of a team of three have to be working for a tourism business and the team's application to the Competition has to be supported by the Tourism Business at which they are employed.
- A Tourism Business includes a tourist accommodation of any category
- The Competitors must be of the legal working age and must have resided in Samoa for more than 12 months

- Usage of fresh local arrangement pieces only
- Functionality and Economics e.g. How easy is it to find the arrangement items in Samoa, and how expensive or reasonably prices are they?

About the competition
This competition will encourage the cleanliness and hygienic standards of toilets and bathrooms all over the nation from the public places operated by Organisations and Corporations, Government Agencies, all Educational Facilities, and Tourism Sector.
Competition Format
There will be three inspections per annum leading up to the Teuila Festival. The inspections will be in accordance with the following categories and inspector groups.

Transportation and Inspection Expenses will be the responsibility of the Samoa Tourism Authority in accordance with its Beautification and Tourism objectives with assistance to the MESC Inspection if resources allow.

For Families
This competition will encourage the cleanliness and hygienic standards of toilets in the homes. It has been noted that while most households prioritise the cleaning up of their home frontages, most still fail to pay attention to their lavatories. This competition aims at trying to educate families with the importance of ensuring that these facilities are maintained and how it can affect their everyday wellbeing.
Competition Format
The competition is open for 10 families to volunteer to participate. There will be 3 inspections leading up to the Teuila Festival.
